The rally slowed down on today’s session, as investors were tempted to start realizing profits after the prices’ surge, and if it wasn’t for blue chips OCI and EFG-Hermes major indices would have definitely ended down.
CASE 30 Index closed 0.1 % up at 9286.25 points, after hitting and all time high 9327.54 points by 10:40, the point at which the Index reversed direction and went to a low of 9239.19 points to pick up all over again and spend the remainder of the session crawling up.
As for investors’ attitudes; Local and Arab investors remained net sellers and accounted for market shares of 63 %, and 15.8 % respectively, while foreign investors accounted for 21.2 % market share and were net buyers.
The market traded 167 companies at LE 1,450,299,223; out of which CASE 30 companies accounted for LE 1,062,037,698 where 11 issued closed up, and the remainder collapsed.
On the Index’s upper end; Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) came ahead with 2.47 % leap to LE 488.06, Alexandria Real Estate followed with 2.20 % rise to LE 406.49, Alexandria Mineral Oils Company closed 1.80 % up at LE 83.79, Medinet Nasr Housing advanced 1.64 % to LE 55.84, and fifth came Egyptian Financial Group-Hermes Holding Company with 1.24 %gain to LE 52.08.
On the down side; El Watany Bank of Egypt plummeted 16.38 % to LE 63.00 following the end of the tender offer period; Telecom Egypt bucked the five session winning streak trend with 2.71% to LE 20.07, South Valley Cement dipped 2.54 % to LE 16.48, Egyptian for Tourism Resorts shed 1.39 % to LE 9.94, and Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (MobiNil) declined 1.30% to LE 189.79.
On the turnover list; Egyptian Financial Group-Hermes Holding Company came ahead with LE 225,829,170, Orascom Telecom Holding (OT) followed with LE 117,720,888, however it closed 0.10 % down at LE 79.97, Telecom Egypt traded LE 106,306,604, Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) traded LE 88,879,067, fifth came Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals with LE 61,873,453,and it closed 0.69 % up at LE 20.38.
