Nagib Sawiris CEO of Orascom Telecom Holding said that his company will continue to work in Algeria,he also stated his instance on staying in partnership with Telecom Egypt when it comes to Lakom company.
He also confirmed his will to compete for the second license for landlines in Egypt saying that this would end the state's dominance on that field.
About his expectations for the price of the second license, he said that it will be determined when the information memorandum is posted and then he will make an offer based on very accurate studies.
He said in a teleconference with analysts that Orascom Telecom predicts using some ccash to repurchase stocks from the market when the price is more attractive. He also added that the company was hoping the reach the chinese and Malaysian markets but chances there are limited for now.
He said that his company had gone into negotitaions with telecom malaysia but it turned out that it was looking for financial inverstors not telecommunication companies.
