Egypt market review-Thursday

For the second consecutive session; Egypt’s stocks fell down on the back of profit taking transactions, and the slide of Egyptian GDRs prices; the benchmark, CASE 30 Index, closed 0.63 % down at 8964.35 points sliding away from the record 9000 points. However; a correction was inevitable, as prices, especially those of blue chips, went to attractive selling highs.
Local and Arab investors became net buyers and accounted for market shares of 71.74 and 5.9 %respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers and accounted for 12.26 % market share. On the other side; individuals were net sellers and accounted for 61.50 % market share, while institutional were net buyers and accounted for 38.50 % market share.
The market traded 165 companies at LE 1,566,485,524, out of which CASE 30 companies traded LE 993,381,638, where 12 issues advanced, one remained flat, and the remaining dropped.
On the Index’s winners’ list; Credit Agricole Egypt came ahead with 3.96 % rise to LE 22.33, Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals followed with 3.89 % to LE 20.05, South Valley Cement gained 2.94 % to LE 15.74, Eastern Tobacco closed 2.87 % up at LE 409.00, and fifth came Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (MobiNil) which rose 2.19 % to LE 186.79.
On the downside; Housing & Development Bank dipped 6.24 % to LE 60.42, El Ezz Steel Rebars declined 2.64 % to LE 53.06, Egyptian for Tourism Resorts shed 2.47 % to LE 11.07, Egyptian Financial Group-Hermes Holding Company closed 2.06 % down at LE 48.10, and Heliopolis Housing declined 1.87 % to LE 480.24.
On the turnover list; Housing & Development Bank came ahead with LE 110,743,783, Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC) followed with LE 100,340,791, and joined the green parade with 1.68 % to LE 189.17, Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) traded LE 89,888,879 and closed 1.82 % down at LE 458.59, Egyptian Financial Group-Hermes Holding Company traded LE 84,598,217, and Orascom Telecom Holding (OT), which closed 0.52 % down at LE 77.15, came fifth with LE 84,410,494 turnover
